5 months already?!

So, I guess life isn't going to slow down enough for me to have oodles of time to blog.  But I am trying, I think about it.

Ellie is growing up, it is amazing to see how far she has come in 5 months!  It is tricky to keep track of her double life of 2 different ages.  So, biologically, she is 5 months old. But really, biologically, she is really 11 weeks old. Ha! Confusing!  But I gauge her milestones on her corrected age.

She seems to be doing the things she is supposed to.  Of course I would love for her to be a bit more smiley, but that will come.  She coos and fusses with her protest yells.  Lately, when she is smiling and excited about it, she sticks her tongue waaaay out! It's cute!  She hates tummy time, hollers and screams about it, so I try not to make it last very long.  She is doing great at sleeping at night!  She loves to be held and in the mix of things.  My Baby Bjorn carrier is  a life saver! She prefers it over being toted around in over her car seat.  She is getting to hate her car seat. Life with school drop offs and pick ups, and swim team, and scouts and piano lessons and all, life in the car seat isn't fun.  So, whenever we get somewhere, like the store, I put her right in the carrier and she seems to be content!  Porter had a swim meet and we were there half the day, and she tolerated it just fine being in her carrier and walking around.  I was impressed by her contentment!  Ellie is a really good baby.  She does get a little fussy in the afternoon, or after being toted around so much.  When she gets real fussy, I just swaddle her up and give her the pacifier and rock her. She almost looks relieved.  It would be like someone telling me in the afternoon "Why don't you just go lay down and take a nap".... oh how relieved I would be too! Ha!
I tried to include a lot of pictures in this post with captions, to kind of show what's been happening. A picture is worth a thousand words, so there you go! Thousands of words for you!
Tummy Time!

Don't let her face of contentment deceive you... she hates tummy time!
She usually ends up crying the whole time.

All dressed up to go to a baby shower of one of her soon
to be friends! She looks thrilled! ha!
Those cheeks though!

Ellie sleeps so good at night!  She likes to be swaddled
nice and snug.

I crunched my finger between two weights at the gym. It
heart like a bear! But it left such a pretty little star decal,
almost made it worth the pain.... but not really!

Ellie isn't quite ready to give her smiles away to
just anyone, they do have to be earned. But they will
melt you heart!
Addie made this for Kindergarten!

Couldn't you just die?! She is so cute!

Can't believe it has been 5 months!
We do try... to be somewhat adult-ish! :)

She still loves some skin to skin
Looking deceptively happy in her car seat! Ha! She's a trooper!
Building a fire in the middle of 80 degree weather. But it
was started with a magnifying glass. These are life skills! Ha
And a few smoked marshmallows to add to the fun!
Ellie loves to be outside! She fits right in with her brother
and sister, who could live outside if I would let them. If it
wasn't for the darn mosquitoes we would be outside more!
Thank goodness for amazing friends! I don't know where I'd be without their love and support these past few years! Oh, and Laura turned 30! Ha, now she can't tease us anymore about the 30s!! :)
Elles Belles
Getting excited for Halloween!
Porter starting swimming with the Makos now. Year round swim! He had his first race today and won in his heat! Look out Michael Phelps! ;)
